In Heidelberg for VlogEurope
I am writing this from Joel Carner’s house in Heidelberg, and we are preparing for tomorrow’s VlogEurope sessions. Yes, this weekend is the weekend for the third VlogEurope gathering, and this time it takes place in south-western Germany.
I will take a lot of footage while here, and I look forward to the backchannel discussions on BlogTV - we are broadcasting live from the sessions tomorrow.
I will be in Heidelberg untill monday. More soon.
Bicycling in Copenhagen

In May, I made a post where I wrote about bicycling in Copenhagen. Today, via Evilvlog, I found out about “A billion bikes”, which has a series of videos about bicycling in Copenhagen. Here is the first of their videos about Copenhagen:

I had never heard about ABillionBikes, but this sure looks very interesting! I have always been a fan of urban use of bicycles (not just for green-treehugging reasons), and I will surely check out the youtube channel for this site.
For instance, I would love to get to know more about the bicycling culture in China. How is that changing as cars become more popular?
By the way, did you know that today, 1/3 of the people of Copenhagen use their bike to commute to work? Yes, 33%!
And the city of Copenhagen wants to increase this further!
Urban planning in Norway
I just saw this Norwegian video at snutter.no, which is a norwegian site for free uploading of videos.
Yes, it is in Norwegian
I have increasingly had an interest in architecture and urban planning. Not because I want to pursuit architecture myself, but I utterly enjoy reading writings about architecture. I will write more specific posts about that later.
Amen

I WANT: to meet people on-line making similar vids”

My friend Rupert had tipped me about GoGenTV a few days ago but it was not before tonight that I actually got to checking the site out.
This is amazing stuff, and it is really inspiring to see how someone does this out of passion, true passion for the opportunities this medium gives us. Opportunities for real communication.
Our civilization on her way to conquest modern times
At the universal exhibition of Bruxelles in 1958, the following video was presented:
It was called “poeme électronique”, and there are several accounts about it scattered around the internet.
I have a long-standing interest in architecture, and lately I have been reading up on Le Corbusier, and I remember phrases and images from Rem Koolhas’ book, that I read over for a few years.
And I look back at the video from the first demo of the mouse, that Doug Engelbart did in the 1960s. And I scan through some of the books about modernism, or modern architecture, or the early uses of video, or computers.
And I compare that with the current exploration with video on the net.
And I ask myself: Is this it?
